No songs, only teasers of Dhoom:3 until film release ....

A poster of Dhoom:3

As we get closer and closer to Dhoom:3‘s release, the publicity machinery for the film is cranking up, and how. Yesterday, we heard that a whopping Rs 5 crore was spent on the song Malang alone (that’s the sort of budget on which entire independent films are shot) and today, after having whetted everyone’s appetites with photos, a Times of India report did its bit to raise fans’ curiosity. Usually, songs from a film are released before the film, as a publicity strategy, but Dhoom:3 has decided to release only teasers. We’ll get to see only 30 seconds of the song, and not the complete video. For the full song, we’ll have to wait for the movie
Dhoom:3′s anthem song, Dhoom Machale, has already been released. Featuring Katrina Kaif in a sexy avatar, the song also highlights stunts performed by the leading men of the film — Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra. During the song’s launch, Aamir Khan, who plays the bad guy in Dhoom:3, revealed that while they’re going to promote the film, they’re also going to make sure that the audience doesn’t find out too much before the release. It seems YRF and Khan’s new marketing mantLow key promotions have worked well for Khan in the past. For example, his last release Talaash wasn’t publicised as much as most other Bollywood films, but it performed well. His home productions regularly steer clear of media blitz, relying instead on making the audience curious. Whether this tactic will be successful with a big budget extravaganza remains to be seenra is that less is more.
Dhoom:3 releases on 20 December, 2013 and stars Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles.
